F.A.MEANEA
Frank A. Meanea certainly earned his reputation as a Master Saddler of his time by his innovative designs and his willingness to give working cowboys what they wanted and needed. Nephew to E.L. Gallatin of Western saddle making fame, Frank Meanea began his saddler's trade as an apprentice in Gallatin's Saddle Shop in Cheyenne Wyoming in the 1880s.
Meanea is known for his pioneering of the Cheyenne style saddle, but also for his holsters, gun leather and other cowboy gear. His personal style of tooling and unique design features have helped to make his work well known and highly collectible.
Today, prices on original F.A. Meanea leather are fast becoming unobtainable to most of us, with a simple pair of cowboy cuffs selling for as much as $1,500.00!
